Texas Kyokushin Karate – How to Become a Student

I’m not looking to add students to Texas Kyokushin Karate. It doesn’t mean that I’m not open to it. My message for anyone who is choosing a karate dojo is that it’s not a decision to be taken lightly. Much too often, people put little thought into choosing a teacher and place to train, other than location and how much.

I teach in Bryan, Texas. Both my space and my time are limited. Training in Kyokushin Karate takes serious commitment. To be considered for a place as a student you must be serious about training and living locally.

How to Apply

1) If you wish to apply you do so by sending an email to Texas Kyokushin Karate. Include a short bio about yourself, your martial arts background (if any), and why you want to train in Kyokushin.

2) Once received the application is reviewed. If your application is accepted, then you will be interviewed.

3) During the interview I will want to get to know you and more about what your motivation for training is. I’ll also answer questions and explain how training with me works.

If Accepted

At the end of the interview, if you still wish to train with me, and I’ve decided to accept you as a student, we’ll review your goals, make a plan, and work out the training schedule. It’s also quite possible that you will be told to give it more thought before deciding.
